I had an idea starting this year about supporting my husband’s fine art paintings. I was calling it “The Tuesday Specials” but today it is Saturday, I know.....I'm late.... :)

It was a magic early morning when we were driving up the Florida Keys yesterday. The sky by the old Railroad bridge and all the small mangroves started beeing colored in a mystic pink from the rising sun light.

Ein magischer Hauch von rosarot, grau und blau lag ueberm Wasser und den Mangroven gestern Morgen, als wir die Florida Keys hinauffuhren Richtung Miami. Ich kann echt nicht sagen, was ich lieber mag: Sonnenaufgang oder Sonnenuntergang. Beide haben viel Schoenes und Mystisches an sich.

This is Pigeon Key seen from the 7-Mile-Bridge driving down to Key West. In the back you can see the Old 7-Mile-Bridge.

Is this the boat that takes you over to the island of Santorini?... No, it's not.... This is just an old sponge boat sitting in Tarpon Spring harbor, a Greek village in Florida, where local men are still diving for sponges today.

Dieses Boat ist leider nicht die Faehre rueber nach Santorini...... Es ist nur ein altes Schwammboat, welches im Hafen in Tarpon Spring sitzt. Tarpon Spring ist ein huebsches, echt griechisches Dorf an der Westkueste in Florida, wo einheimische Maenner heute immer noch nach Schwaemmen tauchen.

This is the place where I do photograph a lot of weddings like last weekend happend. It is a fun job to photograph all these happy and so much in love couples and Smather's Beach is a perfect background scene to celebrate the biggest day in life.

This is a different sunset than the others, isn't it? I captured this image of the sun sinking into the Gulf of Mexico at Honeymoon Island on my recent trip up to the Panhandle of Florida. What a nice name for a very nice place!

Dieser Sonnenuntergang entstand auf meiner kuerzlichen Reise hinauf in den Panhandle Floridas, auf "Honeymoon-Island". Ein sehr schoener Name fuer eine Insel, nicht wahr? This picture was made in the Bahia Honda State Park on a pretty day. Bahia Honda is close to the Old Railroad Bridge, the 7 Mile Bridge and Marathon in the Florida Keys. A beautiful beach is so inviting to take a long walk in the turquoise blue shallows.


Ich habe dieses Bild im Bahia Honda Nationalpark gemacht. Bahia Honda liegt zu Fuessen der alten Eisenbahnbruecke und nahe zu Marathon und der
7-Meilen Bruecke. Es ist eine schoene einladende Beach, wo man weit im flachen Wasser hinauslaufen kann, immer den weissen Sand und das tuerkisblaue Meer vor Augen.

The red color is very eye catching, isn't it? People at the pier are always asking me about my secret to how I end up with such a brilliant color in a picture. It is not a big secret! Just put a red filter on the front of your camera and a little bit of “touching up” in Photoshop – et voila, that’s all! That process made a simple picture into a mysterious looking sunset. Enjoy!

In diesem Bild hier ist ein einfacher Bildaufbau mit einer sehr intensiven roten Farbe verstaerkt worden. “Was mag wohl das Geheimnis sein dahinter”? “Wie machst du das nur”?, solche und aehnliche Fragen kriege ich sehr oft zu hoeren. Ich kann sagen, es ist keine Zauberei ! Man nehme: Einen Rotfilter, ein bisschen “touching up” in Photoshop – et voila, das ist alles! Und schon ist ein einfaches Bild farblich sehr ausdruckstark veraendert worden. Ich mag das Bild sehr.
