Among the Palms in Florida
Everybody sings of the sunny South
That's the song that clings to the singer's mouth
They ragtime it and boost the climate
Way up to the sky
I
Never cared a lot for the Swanee shore
There's another spot that I'm rooting for
I've been there and I must declare
It can't be praised too high
[Refrain:]
If I had my way, I'd always stay
In Florida among the palms
With its peaceful air of "I don't care"
And lazy atmosphere that calms
My one favorite haunt
Is a palm tree, and all I want
Is someone just to rest in my arms
I'd love to live among the bamboo huts, the coco nuts
There's something in the climate that charms
Heaven's corridor is sunny Florida
Home of the shelt'ring palms
[2nd verse:]
Florida was named very prettily
By the man who claimed its discovery
He spent hours among the flowers
And called it "God's Land"
And
Nature seems to sigh "it's my favorite"
That's the reason why Heaven gave her it
It was born from a diamond worn
Upon an Angel's hand
I hope you'll enjoy the picture - with the lyric.
Thanks for your visit, my friends.

You know this two guys too...

are a Grammy Award-nominated American blues and soul revivalist band founded in 1978 by comedians Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi as part of a musical sketch on Saturday Night Live. Belushi and Aykroyd, respectively in character as lead vocalist "Joliet" Jake Blues and harpist/vocalist Elwood Blues, fronted the band, which was composed of well-known and respected musicians. The band made its debut as the musical guest on the April 22, 1978, episode of Saturday Night Live.
The band began to take on a life beyond the confines of the television screen, releasing an album, Briefcase Full of Blues, in 1978, and then having a Hollywood film, The Blues Brothers, created around its characters in 1980.
After the death of Belushi in 1982, the Blues Brothers have continued to perform with a rotation of guest singers and other band members. The original band reformed in 1988 for a world tour and again in 1998 for a sequel to the film, Blues Brothers 2000. They make regular appearances at musical festivals worldwide.
Hi my friends,
Thank you so much for your comments to my Shuttle post. The Shuttle did not went off also at the next day not, because of some valve problems. But I'm sure you all have read that online already or heard it in the news on TV. It's cold coffee already, right? :)
I met today the Blues Brothers, believe it or not - as a statue sitting, molded into chairs in a used furniture shop...yes! I had to make some portraits of them, I always liked them :)
Have a good time, stay with me - your comments are very much appreciated.

The Shuttle did NOT went off
Picture sourceThe Shuttle Discovery STS-128 did NOT went off last night because of - they said - bad weather conditions. Even though the night sky was clear and the stars were beautiful and bright, only some lightnings here and there on the horizon, but not that strong at all.
We all - Dave and I, and maybe 100 other people - were waiting with big patience to see that spectacle. Some brought a radio with them to listen to the countdown that never happened and some had even their laptop on their knees. One could feel the big disappointment in the crowd when the NASA Control Station said "No" to let the Shuttle going up to space. It is now postponed for tonight at 01.10 A.M.
I don't know if I can be standing up again so long....LOL...

Waiting for a big event
Hi my friends,
we are waiting for the launch of the Space Shuttle "Discovery STS-128" 01.36 A.M. at Kennedy Space Center. It's the first time in my life to see this spectacle live. I hope I'm not to excited and will forget to click the exposure button....LOL.. If not, I'll have some pictures and maybe also a little video to show you :)
It was a great and beautiful day today... we went into Cocoa Beach and to Melbourne to explore the region and had a fine lunch at "Applebees".... :) that's the "hard and exciting" life of two retirees...LOL...
Stay tuned with me and your kind comments are always very welcome :)

Back to normal....
This is yesterday's photo from the Indian River turned back to the horizontal level :) that means that my day is no more up-side-down, right? ...LOL... everything is back to "normal", our car is fixed and runs like new again - life is good! :)Hi my friends,
thanks for your wonderful comments and compliments to my post yesterday and the other days too, of course. We were absorbed two days with sitting and waiting to get our RV tuned up and all those mechanical things that have to bee done after a certain time being on the road. I had not to much time to post....
We are thinking about settling down maybe here at the Space Coast and looking around for good locations. There is a lot on the market, but a lot of rubbish too.... :)
Stay with me in this hot Florida weather, everybody is sweating, not just me...LOL...

F.L.O.R.I.D.A.

Hi my friends all over the world!
We have arrived in warm and sunny Florida! After driving more than 500 miles in 2 days - hubby is tired! - sleeping one night in a truck stop parking place and the night before on an icy and cold campground in Myrtle Beach, we made it down to the Space Coast.
And we have also WiFi here, so no problems... I'll be reporting as usual about all the pretty scenes here in Florida. Maybe there will be also some sunrises, IF I ever will make it to get up that early... LOL..
Stay with me and thanks for all the nice comments to my last post. I very much appreciate your words and compliment!
See ya...talk to you tomorrow!
Susanne
