Living in the here and now...

The meaning of life is not to be discovered only after death in some hidden, mysterious realm; on the contrary, it can be found by eating the succulent fruit of the Tree of Life and by living in the here and now as fully and creatively as we can.
~Paul Kurtz~

Who poured the water inside the coconut?

There is sweet water inside a coconut. Who poured the water inside the coconut? Was it the work of any man? No.Only the Divine can do such a thing.

When was the last time...

When was the last time you spent a quiet moment just doing nothing - just sitting and looking at the sea, or watching the wind blowing the tree limbs, or waves rippling on a pond, a flickering candle or children playing in the park?
Ralph Marston

Hi my friends,
I wasn't surprised that so many of you liked that old and beautiful Studebaker car in my last post yesterday. It was indeed the perfect match together with those pastel Florida colors of that old time Motel in New Smyrna Beach. I fell in love too with the subject at the first moment.

I have not to much to say today. It's Saturday and weekend anyway for you. The best thing to say is only: ENJOY your days off, enjoy your life!
Tomorrow is my "Wordless Sunday" again, be there....! ;)

Among the Palms in Florida

Captured at the Space Coast in Florida

In Florida among the palms

Everybody sings of the sunny South
That's the song that clings to the singer's mouth
They ragtime it and boost the climate
Way up to the sky

I
Never cared a lot for the Swanee shore
There's another spot that I'm rooting for
I've been there and I must declare
It can't be praised too high

[Refrain:]
If I had my way, I'd always stay
In Florida among the palms
With its peaceful air of "I don't care"
And lazy atmosphere that calms
My one favorite haunt
Is a palm tree, and all I want
Is someone just to rest in my arms
I'd love to live among the bamboo huts, the coco nuts
There's something in the climate that charms
Heaven's corridor is sunny Florida
Home of the shelt'ring palms

[2nd verse:]
Florida was named very prettily
By the man who claimed its discovery
He spent hours among the flowers
And called it "God's Land"

And
Nature seems to sigh "it's my favorite"
That's the reason why Heaven gave her it
It was born from a diamond worn
Upon an Angel's hand

I hope you'll enjoy the picture - with the lyric.
Thanks for your visit, my friends.

Hi my friends,

longtime friends know it already, I LOVE palm trees and I love to photograph them since many years now. Have a look in my old archives from Key West - going back to the year 2006, my very first beginning of blogging. I fell in love with this tropical trees and never lost the passion :)

Thank you so much for your comments yesterday. Yes, we are still sitting here at the Space Coast, waiting for the next Shuttle Launch coming up next Monday night at 01.58 AM. I hope I can do some snaps, if the weather is good. I'm excited already :)

Stay with me and enjoy your day!

Palms again.....

YES, we have still some palm trees left on the island! Somebody asked me in a comment to one of my last posts about palm trees, if there are still some palm trees left to photograph in Key West, because I captured so many of them already on my blog. I have to say it again: I just LOVE palm trees and no one of them look the same!
And new ones are growing too.... :-)

AND...... believe it or not, we have also pine trees on this island,
even a lot -
like this great beautiful example here, photographed in the last sunbeams of a hot and humid summer day.

Tropical Flowers

Tropical flowers are the most beautiful flowers I ever have seen. I'm totally in love with these creatures and never can get enough of them to photograph. If I would have a bigger yard I would turn it into a tropical rain forest with all the plants, trees and flowers what are growing here.

Coconut Palm

Don't ever sit under the Coconut palmtree in the early afternoon! That's the most dangerious time! Why...? Because that's when the most coconuts will be falling - on your head! :-))
Setz dich nie unter eine Kokonusspalme am fruehen Nachmittag. Das ist die gefaehrlichste Zeit, weil dann die meisten Nuesse fallen werden - auf deinen Kopf! :-))

Up up to the Sky...

Look up in the sky and see all the palms in the Florida clouds - this is a tropical view at Smathers Beach in a warm, Sunday evening sunset light. This is the picture of Florida that I always have in my mind.
Wenn ich an Florida denke, kommt mir dieses Bild in den Sinn: Palmen die sich wiegen im Abendlicht und die so typischen Floridawolken am Himmel, alles abgestimmt in einer farblichen Harmonie.
