When birds burp, it must taste like bugs. Bill Watterson
Hi my friends,
I have no idea what kind of bird this is. He looked for me like a big Ibis, my husband thought it's somewhat like a stork.... do you know the name of this species? :))
Thank you for the comments on my last post, they are all very much appreciated.
After 2 days stay in the hospital, I hope I can bring hubby back home today. We are waiting for the results of the Cardiologist... cross your fingers for us!
I wish you a good start in the weekend!
See you on Sunday for my "wordless photo" again, right? :)

Portrait of a big white Heron - captured down in Key West, Florida
Hi my friends,
I don't know to much to say to this photo - just enjoy it, ok?
It's still raining today here in Florida, on and off.....
it's quiet a boring day, I would say :)
Thank you for ALL the wonderful compliments I got yesterday, my friends. Sunsets are like a magnet, people always love to see it for real or in a photo.
Enjoy your Friday - weekend is around the corner...yeah!

He liked to pose in front of my camera: "The Raven"
...and here in a portrait from the left side....
I met this photogenic little black "guy" on my travels in the Petrified Forest in Arizona and of course, he was only begging for food, not for portraits shots :)
I think a lot of you know also the poem "The Raven" - we had to read it in school, right?
"The Raven"
is a narrative poem by the American writer Edgar Allan Poe, first published in January 1845. It is often noted for its musicality, stylized language, and supernatural atmosphere. It tells of a talkingraven's mysterious visit to a distraught lover, tracing the man's slow descent into madness. The lover, often identified as being a student, is lamenting the loss of his love, Lenore. The raven, sitting on a bust of Pallas, seems to further instigate his distress with its constant repetition of the word "Nevermore". The poem makes use of a number of folk and classical references.
The first printing of "The Raven" was in the January 29, 1845, issue of the New York Evening Mirror. Its publication made Poe widely popular in his lifetime though it did not bring him much financial success. The poem was soon reprinted, parodied, and illustrated. Although critical opinion is divided as to its status, it remains one of the most famous poems ever written.
This was the first time in my life I have seen eagles flying in the wild so close. I wish, I would have had my longer 600mm lens with me to capture those "Bald Head Eagles" better! There were for sure five of them circling over my head, loud screaming - while down in the water the fisher man enjoyed the tranquility of the Cooper River and tried to catch some good pieces for his dinner.

Ocean Diners
They open up their beaks and throats For breakfast off the back of boats. Some take a dip and dive for brunch, Some join the passengers for lunch- Or swoop in low for sneak attacks On things like peanut butter snacks. And when they're in a hungry mood, Sea gulls love your finger food!
Yesterday afternoon, after the big heavy rainfall, I had a new visitor in my garden. I called this Ibis bird "Harry". He was very busy picking at all the fat worms, snails and other "bug-goodies".
But he was not the only one new visitor....
May I introduce you to "Jimmy"......?
Jimmy is new in the environment and is quite different than all the other brown-red chickens we have running around the house. He is white, tall, can barely crow - but he tries! And he has to fight very hard to defend his new territory.
While Harry is gone by now, it seems that Jimmy won the fights against all the other roosters and decided to stay.
