Hi my friends,

I love nostalgia. I loved to see how people were living on the world famous Route 66 back in the good old days. This photo was made in one of the museums on Route 66 during our RV travels last year. Everyone of us remember those old gramophones, right? :)

I'm still a nurse at home, hubby is coughing worse than ever. We went yesterday again to the doctor in the clinic, he got more pills and inhalers, that's all. It seems like its a bad story without an end, the same scenes over and over again - I can't help him to much, I wish I could - and he has all the pain to get trough. I wish the good old days back, also for him, more than ever!

Never give up and think positive, right? It will be well again one day....

I have nothing to exciting to tell you today, life is "normal" as usual - and good! Come by tomorrow again, visit me and stay as long as you like, stroll down and go to my archives or older posts to see there more of my work in photography.

The Old Mill 1886

We've experienced a historic grist mill on the edge of the Cherokee Indian Reservation. A country store w/ fresh ground cornmeal, jams, country hams, candles and quality gifts. The 1886 room
is full of antiques, lamps, furniture's and quality smalls. The 1930 Gift Shop offers Cherokee made baskets, arts and crafts, Collectors will find Civil War, Indian Artifacts, southern pottery and more.

It's amazing, "The Old Mill" is still working

That Old Mill

is alive in the light of day

harsh wind grabbing

icicle eyes staring dimly
at the scene, leftover pussy
willows as
stiff fingers beside river's bank.

Within view an ancient mill
memories
dulled
by the passage of time.

Images of life return as a photo
album, deer
within shadows
cows flicking horse flies

kids painting the barn and
three dogs chasing.

Childhood is splashing in the
creek, pages from life
a long time ago.

The Cadillac Ranch on Route 66

These photographs are my own photographic impressions of the Cadillac Ranch, one mile away from our "Oasis RV Park" where we are located since two days. Probably we will stay here one day more because of the recent rainy and bitter cold windy weather conditions and the Tornado threats to the East in Oklahoma.

The Cadillac Ranch,
located along the tatters of historic Route 66, was built in 1974, brainchild of Stanley Marsh 3, the helium millionaire who owns the dusty wheat field where it stands. Marsh and The Ant Farm, a San Francisco art collective, assembled used Cadillacs representing the "Golden Age" of American Automobiles (1949 through 1963). The ten graffiti-covered cars are half-buried, nose-down, facing west "at the same angle as the Cheops' pyramids."

Hi my friends,

We are "stocked" just now here on this wonderful Campground "Oasis RV Resort" in Amarillo Texas. No, no...it's not a bad thing to get stocked here, the place is very nice, the laundry is FREE, the parking spaces are all paved and there is also a big pool in the back, if... yes IF it wouldn't be so damn cold!!! We are freezing and have the heat on day and night inside our RV... :))

And we have also exceptional bad weather predictions, also for tomorrow, with even Tornado warnings - special for the East towards Oklahoma, where we have to go! Well, we will see...maybe we will make also a 180 degrees turn and heading back to the West again...LOL... We are free and can do whatever we want, right?.... :))
