The three methods how to learn wisdom...

 By three methods we may learn wisdom: First, by reflection, which is noblest;
Second, by imitation, which is easiest;
and third by experience, which is the bitterest.
Confucius

Hi my friends,

I'm so happy that so many of you liked my first video so much!
Thank you for all your kind and wonderful comments.

Today's post is about reflections. Reflections in the photo and reflections also in life - and that's now something it's worthy to think about deeper. The picture to the quote was made recently at Lake Washington on a wonderful and bright sunny day. I love to go to that place, love to relax there, while I'm taking pictures. Many of my photos in my ZEN-Video were made there too.

I hope you're enjoying your weekend.
And, tomorrow will be my "Wordless Sunday" again.
See you tomorrow, right? :)
~Susanne

Looking trough the gates of Heaven

Sunsets are so beautiful that they almost seem as if we were looking through the gates of Heaven.
John Lubbock

Loneliness adds beauty to life. It puts a special burn on sunsets and makes night air smell better.
Henry Rollins

Hi my friends,

Two days ago we had such a wonderful sunset at the river - and happily I had my camera with me to get these two shots above - I hope you'll enjoy. Sunsets are always magical to me.

And yesterday, there was such a wonderful, almost double rainbow against the BLACK sky to the ocean
and you won't believe it,  I had NO camera with me!! :(

Thank you for the kind comment(s) from yesterdays "My Wordless Sunday" post!
Happy Monday everyone!
~Susanne

Light Reflections

Playing with light and a crystal

A crystal or crystalline solid

is a solid material, whose constituent atoms, molecules, or ions are arranged in an orderly repeating pattern extending in all three spatial dimensions. The scientific study of crystals and crystal formation is crystallography. The process of crystal formation via mechanisms of crystal growth is called crystallization or solidification. The word crystal is derived from the ancient Greek word κρύσταλλος (krustallos), which had the same meaning, but according to the ancient understanding of crystal. At root it means anything congealed by freezing, such as ice.[1] The word once referred particularly to quartz, or "rock crystal".

Most metals encountered in everyday life are polycrystals. Crystals are often symmetrically intergrown to form crystal twins.

Hi my friends,

thanks you so much for all your wonderful congrats to my post about the award I got yesterday. It felt to me like a having a special day, something like Birthday or Christmas or both in once :)) Awards are not falling from the sky every day, it WAS a special day!
And thanks again to Carol for giving it to me.

Today is a beautiful day again in Florida, the temps are in the 70's and now we are heading out to the beach. Hubby need some fresh air to breath - and me too....smile...

I wish you a wonderful day, see you tomorrow.

It's just a Cup of Coffee....!

It's just a Cup of Coffee...

It's just a cup of coffee he's only passin' through
There's nothing more between us than a memory or two
I know what you're thinkin' but this time I'm tellin' you
It's just a cup of coffee he's only passin' through

I'm meetin' him at midnight at the Old Highway Cafe
I'll be home in an hour don't look at me that way
There's nothing more between us than a memory or two
It's just a cup of coffee he's only passin' through

I know I know I know you've heard it all
You think I'll fall right back into his arms
You're nothing but a mirror on the wall
What do you know I've gotta go

No I never bothered to give him back that ring
Yeah I'm wearin' perfume but that doesn't mean a thing
You're only a reflection don't tell me what to do
It's just a cup of coffee he's only passin' through

There's nothing more between us than a memory or two
It's just a cup of coffee he's only passin' through

Charleston Kaleidoscope

Play with shadows and light

The Camellias are blooming in Charleston

Where architecture and nature are almost touching each other

Color harmony

Christmas is over since many days, but this wrath gives still a nice color accent to the picture

Light Reflections

This is my view every evening from the back side of my yard, overlooking the water and the mangroves.
I enjoy just to sit there, looking out and listen to the birds, watching the last light reflections in the trees and on the water, before the night covers every thing all around in darkness and tranquility.

It is the place I love to be!
