Never look back.... the quote is very true, but not for photographers. I get thought in art school always to take also a look back and the world presents itself to you in a maybe more interesting scenery! Try it....it's really fun to do.

Thank you all for your kind comments to my Sunday post and thanks for coming back today. I hope you'll enjoy my humbled blog.

In less than 90 days my blog will be 6 years old and I have decided to stop it. I have other plans in blogging. I'll let you know more about when time is come - it will be very different! But until then is still some time left to show you some of my photography.

The Pelicans are back!

The pelicans are migrating and took over "The rocks" in Jetty Park, at Cape Canaveral

Get out of my way, that was my spot last year and it's my spot this year also!

The white pelicans are migrating and back. Taking over "The Rocks" out in Jetty Park at the Cape Canaveral shores. I have captured some of them and it's fun to watch their cleaning rituals.

A large flock of White Pelicans winter also in the Indian River near Scottsmoor Landing. You might see them flying and feeding anywhere on Merritt Island.

Jellyfish or Medusa

Jellyfish (also known as jellies or sea jellies or Medusozoa)

are free-swimming members of the phylum Cnidaria. Jellyfish have several different morphologies that represent several different cnidarian classes including the Scyphozoa (over 200 species), Staurozoa (about 50 species), Cubozoa (about 20 species), and Hydrozoa (about 1000–1500 species that make jellyfish and many more that do not). Medusa is another word for jellyfish, and refers specifically to adult jellyfish.
Jellyfish are found in every ocean, from the surface to the deep sea. Some hydrozoan jellyfish, or hydromedusae, are also found in fresh water; freshwater species are less than an inch (25 mm) in diameter, are colorless and do not sting. Many of the best-known jellyfish, such as Aurelia, are scyphomedusae. These are the large, often colorful, jellyfish that are common in coastal zones worldwide.
In its broadest sense, the term jellyfish also generally refers to members of the phylum Ctenophora. Although not closely related to cnidarian jellyfish, ctenophores are also free-swimming planktonic carnivores, are generally transparent or translucent, and exist in shallow to deep portions of all the world's oceans.
Alternative names for groups of jellyfish are scyphomedusae, stauromedusae, cubomedusae, and hydromedusae. These may relate to an entire order or class.

Today I have a picture about some Jellyfishes I have captured out at Jetty Park. That was also for me the first time I have seen these pretty creatures swimming at the surface of the waters out there, beside some turtles, Manatees and Dolphins.

Jetty Park at Port Canaveral, FL

A Manatee and a Sea turtle, captured in Jetty-Park, Cape Canaveral

Hi my friends,

Yesterday I have seen for the first time in my life for real a Manatee swimming in open waters. It was very impressive to see this protected animal of the sea in its natural habitat. Later on I've spotted a sea turtle peeping out from the water.

Jetty Park 

is one of the most popular recreation spots in Brevard County. Besides the 4.5 acre family beach with its designated areas for swimming and surfing (lifeguards on duty year round), one of this park's best-loved features is the 1,200 foot Malcolm E. McLouth Fishing Pier - open 24 hours, paved, lighted, equipped with fish-cleaning tables with running water and fully accessible to the physically challenged. Specially designed beach wheelchairs give access both to the beach and pier. A recently renovated and expanded building on the boardwalk houses an air-conditioned refreshment center and a bait and tackle shop.

Her last flight to Space

The Atlantis Shuttle launch

The mission had no problems with the weather. The launch was initiated yesterday around Kennedy Space Center at 2:28 PM. The countdown contained no serious technical issues.

Atlantis 

will blast into the stratosphere to deliver big spare parts and a load of supplies to the International Space Station

Can you see that little white dot? That's the Shuttle Atlantis only some minutes after the launch!

Atlantis is scheduled to arrive at the International Space Station in approximately two days after launch.

Some impressions captured of all that smog and exhaust - a dramatic picture, 

but, is this environmental friendly????

It was hard to get a parking spot anywhere closer, there were people, people - everywhere! 

But I liked the industrial background to this event in high technology.

So much to the launch of the Space Shuttle yesterday. It was her last flight up there. There will be more launches this year but with another ship and for other purposes. I have enjoyed this maybe 10 minutes of  excitement and of capturing these impressive moments. 

The search for a parking was more than an hour. But in the end it was worth it!

This and that.....

Beach scene at Jetty Park on Merrit Island - it looks pretty crowded!

Fly Pelican, fly...

Pelican rock - as far you can see, hundreds of them were sitting on the rocks and enjoying the sun...

... or sitting on the reeling at the locks where the ships drive from the St. Johns River into the Banana River at Port Canaveral

A deep sea shrimp boat is leaving out to the sea

And this was our WORST campground (St.John's in Palatka) we ever had on our whole travel! It was going down hill on the one side and muddy and dirty too, also the bath rooms - you don't wanted to use them at all! We stayed here one night only because we were tired driving and needed badly a rest. I cannot recommend this place, sorry!

And this here in Lake City is the BEST campground I ever have seen! Everything is clean, functional, not expensive at all, the places are paved and with free Wi-Fi.
That's the best for me, after so many days without connections! :)

Hi my friends,

Thank you so much for all your nice comments and your compliments to my last post about Key West. Also for all the best wishes for getting well soon. We are fine again, both of us! And this are the good news. :)

In the meantime we left that lovely and crazy island some days ago and the not so good news are: we had also some mechanic problems with our car - but everything is fixed now and we payed a lot of money to Mike, a nice guy who fixed everything on our RV with big passion and love to his profession. Thank you Mike for your big effort to help us out! If you are at the Space Coast region and ever need mechanical help, call Mike! You will be not disappointed. He is doing good work and he is a nice guy!

Later in the day we drove away more to West and stopped in Lake City on a beautiful campground, the BEST we ever had on our whole trip until today. Important for RV travelers are: real hot showers, clean place and all the facilities like clean bathrooms, laundry, free Wi-Fi!!! That's the most important for me - I'm now connected again. It feels almost like Christmas for me...LOL... I missed you guys!!! :)

I hope you have enjoyed my newest little tour guide around Florida. Our plans are to go from here to the Alabama shores, leaving tomorrow Wednesday or Thursday. The weather here is pretty cold just now, in the 40's in the night....
