And the river runs....

Banana River at sunset

is a lagoon that lies between Cape Canaveral and Merritt Island in Brevard County, Florida in the United States. It is part of the Indian River Lagoon system, and connects at its south end to the Indian River; it is the only part of the lagoon system not in the Intracoastal Waterway. It also has an outlet to the Atlantic Ocean via a lock into Port Canaveral. The lagoon includes salt marshes, mangrove swamps, seagrass beds, drift algae, oyster bars, tidal flats, and spoil islands, providing habitats for many marine species. These are brackish waters mixed of salt and fresh water;waist deep with a soft bottom sand/grass. Commercial and recreational activities in the lagoon generate more than US$ 800 million annually for the local economy.

Hi my friends,
many thanks for all the kind comments to my last post here on my blog or over there at Facebook.
Love to see you enjoying my humbled blog :)

Today's picture is a detail shot of the Banana River in sunset light.
I was longtime waiting for some Dolphins to appear at the surface or a Manatee, but nothing happend!
I guess they just were not in a mood to smile into my camera.
Well, maybe another day, who knows....*smile*.....

Have a wonderful Friday - it's weekend again!
Is time flying by faster than ever???
~Susanne

Great shot but today I can't help but think about Japan and all the water they have there right now The cars are just being swept away as if they were toys and they are worried about their nuclear power plant which now makes one think that they are not as safe as they are made out to be.

I know about this terrible earthquake and the Tsunamis everywhere. It's sad!

Thanks anyway to stop by and telling me your thoughts, Lady! Appreciated!

Hey Susanne even if there are no dolphins on your photos, the photo is amazing. I don't know if I told you that I always enjoy your narration for each photos and quotes. Hope all is well with you, and how is David doing? Sorry for late arrival. Anna :)

It's a wonderful place to watch the sunsets - if there is one :) - and watching also the manatees and dolphins, especially in the evening short before sunset.

Thanks for stopping by, Marty!
