Last evening lights

Last evening lights at the beach

Hi my friends,

I'm back to posting again.
I had some troubled days, David were in the
hospital for 2 days with heart problems - but today he can come back home
YEAH...!! :)

I hope everything will be back to normal again pretty soon.

Stay tuned and see you tomorrow.

Indian River Palms

Palm group at the Indian River shores, FL

Hi my friends,

here are they again! I'm talking about my palm tree photos. And this is a special pretty group of palms with typical Florida clouds in the sky. I LOVE this picture!

Thank you for all the kind comments from yesterdays post. And there were also not so kind comments. But that happens sometimes, I know... don't worry, they will be not published at all. I'm not a "masochist" (what's the translation in English for this word?)....LOL...

Don't forget to come over tomorrow to see my "Wordless Sunday" again....!
See you there!

Palmtrees at the Beach

I guess, I 'm back to my palm tree photography again here in Florida...LOL... The scene here is the view that we have at the waterfront of this campground. Isn't it beautiful here? Far back on the horizon is the NASA building of the Kennedy Space Center visible.

The park is a very nice area to relax, to take a bike ride or just having a walk for your daily exercise - or to watch the sunrise.
That's on my schedule for tomorrow morning - yes, I will get up that early - I hope :)

The wooden pier

A little bit of a "My Wordless Sunday" photography or maybe "I wish you were here" :)

And this is our "house" now for a while, a small "swarming bug" between all the big and expensive Motor homes and luxury buses. Camping in a RV like this is a lot of work people..and a lot of fun too....LOL...

So many pictures left....

I have still so many beach scenes and palm photos in my archives left from Key West.

I think and hope you will enjoy them anyway and I have not to write big words about. Beaches are beaches and palms are palms....right? :-)

I just can't get away from my palm tree pictures....LOL...

Good Morning - Good Morning to You

Judy Garland - Good Morning lyrics
Artist: Judy Garland

Good mornin', good mornin'!
We've danced the whole night through,
good mornin', good mornin' to you.

Good mornin', good mornin'!
It's great to stay up late,
good mornin', good mornin' to you.

When the band began to play
the sun was shinin' bright.
Now the milkman's on his way,
it's too late to say goodnight.

So, good mornin', good mornin'!
Sunbeams will soon smile through,
good mornin', my darlin', to you.

Here we are together,
a couple of stand-uppers.
Our day is done, breakfast time
starts with our supper.

Here we are together,
ah, but the best of friends must party.
So let me sing this party song
from the bottom of my hearty.

Good morning, it's a lovely morning.
Good morning, what a wonderful day.
We danced the whole night through.
Good morning, good morning to you.

I said good morning, see the sun is shinin'.
Good morning, hear the birdies sing.
It's great to stay up late.
Good mornin', good mornin' to you.

When the band began to play
the stars were shinin' bright.
Now the milkman's on his way,
it's too late to say goodnight.

Good morning, good morning!
Sunbeams will soon smile through.
Good mornin', good morning',
Good mornin', my darlin', to you!

The Beach and a Great Restaurant

Dog’s Beach – Louie’s Backyard

OK, its a small chunk of beach right beside Louie's Backyard, but its a great place to let your dog swim. You will meet many locals who bring their pets for a daily swim. This land is city owned and cleaned only by the responsible pet owners who use it - so remember to clean up after your dog and maybe after someone else who forgot :-) !

NOTE: Louie's Backyard bar called the Afterdeck is pet friendly up until 5pm when dinner is served. This is my favorite Sunday afternoon cocktail hangout! Enjoy!

Louie's Backyard or The Afterdeck

Nestled amid blooming bougainvillea on a lush slice of the Gulf, Louie's remains one of the most romantic restaurants on earth. Famed chef Norman Van Aiken of Norman's in Miami brought his talents farther south and started what has become one of the finest dining spots in the Keys. As a result, this is one of the hardest places to score a reservation: Either call way in advance or hope that your hotel concierge has some pull. After dinner, sit at the dockside bar and watch the waves crash, almost touching your feet, while enjoying a cocktail at sunset. You can't go wrong with the fresh catch of the day, or any seafood dish, for that matter. The weekend brunches are also great. If you can't stay for dinner, go for lunch; this is one dining experience you won't want to miss.

Shade, shade, shade......

As a European I could never understand in the begin, when I came new to this island, why the houses here have so many trees around in the yards. Of course, the only one reason is to get enough SHADE, the most important thing in hot summer days down here, it's cooling off your house in a natural way too, not only with the running Air conditioner. Today I'm happy for so many trees as possible....

In Europe - and special in Switzerland where I was at home - we have not that many trees and not that close to the houses at all, they would be only covering up the beautiful view to the lakes and to the mountains. :-)

A visit to the Beach

A visit to the Beach

Higgs Beach in Old Town Key West is a favorite hangout for locals. Although it is probably not the best swimming beach on the island, it has all the other nostalgic charm of a laid back Key West setting. There are beach chair and umbrella rentals available. There is also a bar and restaurant on the beach, volleyball courts, grills for cookouts,
famous sunning pier and free tennis courts.

Palm trees in Black & White

It was a gray and cloudy day, barely sunshine.... I went to the beach to shoot some pictures in black & white.
They look much better then they would look in color.

Sorry, that you have to keep up with palm trees again, but I think they belong to paradise like the pine trees to the rolling hills on other places.

And I love palm trees!
