An Afternoon in the Park - HAPPY NEW YEAR!

A walk trough Hampton Park in Charleston on a sunny afternoon in December 08, that's what we did yesterday, hubby and I, before we went to an excellent Birthday dinner.

Ducks were gathering around in the pond, looking for all kind of food

Hello, Mr. Duck... I like your hat today!

And there are still some pretty colored Maple leafs left on that tree

December roses and Dragon Snappers are still blooming. I think, they don't know about the word "winter" at all.

On a Cloudy and Windy Day Like This....

Pretty clouds make a nice back ground

Charleston seen from James Island

Container ship docks in the harbor

Private boat docks going out to the water

The wind was blowing me almost away :-)

A very small but pretty beach

A close up with my long lens of the Ravanel bridge - it looks like the bridge is just around the corner, right?

It was a pretty afternoon yesterday, the wind was blowing like crazy and the clouds were fantastic in the sky. I like to feel the wind on my skin and to smell the salty water, watching people at the beach and capturing some great moments in time. I have more pictures tomorrow about this small spot out somewhere on Johns Island in Charleston, so stay tuned! :-)

Please have a seat...

I was sitting in the park one summer day. Taking notice to nature and people around me. I notice a little boy climbing the monkey bars. While his mother watched in concern. But she didn't hold on the him. She grew a smile as he climbed higher.

I took notice of a couple arguing. Tears were rolling down her face. as her boyfriend walked away, She stood there motionless. And smiled with her watery eyes.

I watch an elderly couple walking pass me. They walked with canes and seem crippled. But they were laughing and carrying on. I can't control what is going on around me. But I can never let that interfere, From me being happy.

"Wildlife" in Down Town

In all the seven years I lived in Key West I have not seen one of these cute and rapidly moving Squirrels and here in Charleston they are everywhere - and they amused me very much running up and down the trees and on the walls in one of Down Towns parks, always on the search to find some food.
