Art in the Park

For giants only....!

S.T.O.P. !!!

Do you like mushrooms...? :-)
I really don't know what these three sculptures are. Anyone an idea?

The Stage at Riverfront Park, a very tasteful construction in steel.

I like this one, very simple and very nice

A bronze sculpture about a sailor kissing his wife good bye

A sailor looking out to the water front with the American and the South Carolina State Flag behind (bronze sculpture)

I like to be out in the Riverfront Park. It's a public park area where people can have picnic, or are relaxing on benches with a book in their hands and enjoying the warm sunshine or playing some ball games with friends and kids together.

It was a pleasant stroll on this Sunday afternoon down by the river.

I love your photos. They make me homesick even though I'm from the upstate. Question? Does Charleston have a flag? The reaon I ask is that the one in the picture looks like the State of South Carolina flag. And is the scupture of the sailor and woman at The Battery? I have to get back there!
Thanks...Betty

Hi Betty,

Thanks for your kind comment. yes, you're right it is the State of SC flag and not the Charleston flag, of course! My mistake, sorry! And the sculpture IS in the Riverfront Park over by the Memorial spot.

Nice to meet you!

Great photos, I love the unique artistic qualities in each. I've seen a few places in Australia where there are "giant" furniture, one of the most famous is a 20-ft painting of Vincent Van-Goh's Flowers.
