The Angel Oak in Spring

I have visited the old "Angel Oak" again, I wanted to see her in her new "spring time dress". But there were 3 buses waiting outside the parking lot and for sure more than over 120 school kids running around and climbing up and down in the tree like little monkeys. So I had to wait until the big fun was over and they are gone - and happily, 10 minutes later the whole place was empty again, quite again and only the singing birds and my clicking camera to hear.

I made earlier already a post about the "Angel Oak",read it here: http://sues-daily-photos.blogspot.com/2008/02/angel-oak.html

It's a busy tree isn't it?
Such a beautiful tree, it looks wonderful in green leaves casting such wonderful shadows... very nice.

Hi Susanne -- I stayed on Wadmelaw Island a few years ago and got to pass Angel Oak every time I took the main road. She has certainly experienced a lot of history in her time.

Yeah, we drove that road to visit the old oak tree. The world is getting small, right? You are now in South America and you write me about the Angel Oak...I love that! :-)

Thanks for commenting, Karen!

How great to see good old trees waking up from hibernation at your place too. We had the loveliest warm weather in Oslo, Norway today too - spring is in the air!

Wishing you a great end to your week :-)

I love the photo and I admire your dedication in waiting there for the kids to disperse to take your photo. Well done, it was certainly worth the wait.

I could not shoot any pictures otherwise....I had to wait until they are gone.:-)

Thanks for your visit here and for commenting, Jon.

I know what it's like when you have to wait for things and people to move out your way so you can take a photo. Yesterday I wa waiting for this family to move off the couple statue i wanted to take. They fussed around and played about taking shot after shot with a cameraphone. 10 minutes later they decided to move. Lovely picture of that beautiful tree

Hi Carol,

yep, we photographers all have to make experiences like that with tourists and Sunday afternoon visitors and their cell phone cameras, right? :-)

Thanks for your nice comment.
