A short "novel" for the first picture:

On a sunny day (or any other day) you will climb up the stairs and knock timidly on the door. After a while the door opens and a majordome, of a certain age, dressed in a smoking and speaking perfect english, will usher you into the lobby.

He will take (if it rains that day) your coat and umbrella and will invite you to take a seat. He will then courtesly tell you: "Please, allow to go and see if Sir is ready to see you".

Whilst he is gone, you will look at all those pictures hanging on the wall, picturing all the past (since centuries) family heads. And of course, the fancy staircase leading to the upper part of the house.

After a while, he comes back and tells you: "Please, follow me, Sir is expecting you". You will then walk with him and through many other impressive doors he will lead you into the room where Sir sits. Behind a huge mahagony desk. Sir stands up, smiles at you, greets you and invites you to sit on a Marway English leather couch with an Italian marble table in front of you.

He ask you, if it it disturbs you, if he continues to smoke his Davidoff cigar. He then offers you a coffee or a tea and asks if you would like a cognac with (assuming that you visit him in the late afternoon.

He will listen to what you have to say and tell you that he will do everything he can to help you. At the end of the meeting, he wil offer for his driver to take you home in his Bentley. You will express your thanks and the majordome will take you back.

And you will go and think: "This Peter is really a nice guy".

Well, your picture made me dream like this. When you come an see me, there will be no smoking on me, I will smoke just some cigarettes and will take you home with my old Citroen Xantia. But a cognac you will get.

Susanne, I think it is time to change my old crappy steel ugly door. These are beautiful, and you have so much green around you, wow, not like here, we got dirty snow that is stubborn to melt. Nice photo set again, Anna :)

Hi Anna,

yes change the doors and put some green up too, makes a great contrast to the white snow.:-)

I wish for you that spring comes soon too, up to the North.
