Is this the main Symbol of Christmas ?

Look what I got yesterday...!

Is this the main symbol of Christmas in these times?
It seems everybody is focusing anxiously on spending money that they don't have and going in to debt for the new year. How about you...?

Susanne, send me one of those bills, it will be cool to give out for Christmas, lol. I actually give people money or gift certificate and they can buy what they need. I think that way it makes both sides happy - they can get what they really need, and I don't have to get stress what to get. Nice photo, lol. Anna :)

Seems like that's exactly the focus of Christmas anymore. Too bad.

That is a great analogy of our modern celebrations. I refuse to join in with the masses. I still prefer the nice intimate down to earth celebration. The way it should be.

Awesome post!

Hi Titania,

thanks for your nice comment.

I think the spirit of Christmas should be living in our hearts the whole year long and not only then, when the commercialized world is dictating us to do so, right?

Christmas isn't worth a dime if you can't spend it in peace and joy with the ones you cherish in your heart...

Christmas should be a time of joy, not stress. Too much today the world focuses on commercialization of Christmas, and not on relaxing and enjoying the time with family and friends.

I have tried to introduce this aspect of Christmas on my blog with the "Purple Sunday" posts. Today more and more people are starting to share this aspect of Christmas too, and turning it into an enjoyable time.

Anyway, enough of my rambling! :) Nice picture, I've never seen one of those bills before. THey must be pretty rare!

Cheers,

David

Hi David,

yes they are rare...and somebody did this as a joke, I guess...the bill is still valid and that's important, right?

Thank you for your comment!
