Wishing you all a great weekend, my friends. I'm recovering slowly from a terrible cold and I have also my hubby finally back at home again, after he was very sick and has been hospitalized for over a week. But it looks like everything is going right now in a good and better direction,for him and for me too.

Hi my friends,

thank you all for your kind comments to my wordless Sunday post!

This new picture above is about weather, stormy clouds and rain. I made the picture yesterday in the same park where my "Wordless Sunday" photograph was taken. I had two minutes only to shoot, the wind was picking up like crazy and it begun to rain. Weather can change very quick here in the rainy season - I love to feel the big rain drops on my skin!

I hope I could catch the pretty spooky atmosphere that always reigns before the storm and the rain set in. I love the weather like this!!

Hi my friends,

Two days ago we had such a wonderful sunset at the river - and happily I had my camera with me to get these two shots above - I hope you'll enjoy. Sunsets are always magical to me.

 

And yesterday, there was such a wonderful, almost double rainbow against the BLACK sky to the ocean

and you won't believe it,  I had NO camera with me!! :(

Fort Moultrie is the name of a series of forts on Sullivan's Island, South Carolina, built to protect the city of Charleston, South Carolina. The first fort, built of palmetto logs, inspired the flag and nickname (Palmetto State) of South Carolina.



History
The fort was unnamed and not yet complete when Admiral Sir Peter Parker and nine British warships attacked it on June 28, 1776, near the beginning of the American Revolutionary War.The soft palmetto logs did not crack under bombardment but rather absorbed the shot; there were even reports of cannon balls actually bouncing off of the walls of the structure. In any case, Charleston was saved from capture, and the fort was named for the commander in the battle, William Moultrie, and the locals, to this day celebrate 'Carolina Day' to commemorate the bravery of the defenders of the fort, the 2nd South Carolina Regiment. The fort was eventually captured by the British in the siege of Charleston. (See the southern theater in the article titled American Revolution for more information).

I love to photograph also all the different cloud formations what we have here on this island - especial now, this time of the year.

Intresting Cloud Formations

I still like to look up to the clouds to see all kind of shapes, colors and even faces. As a kid I have seen often whole stories - in my fantasy of course - in the clouds and started also to interact with them. I guess I must had back then a lot more fantasy and imaginations, something what we are loosing more and more when we are getting older.... Let's look up more again to the sky, let's train your imaginations and tell me what you'll see!

Auch heute noch schaue ich oft hinauf in die Wolken und sehe (immer noch) allerlei Formen und sogar Gesichter an mir vorbeiziehen. Als Kind hatte ich das ganz ausgepreagt. Ich beobachtete oftmals in meiner reichen Fantasiewelt ganze "Geschichten" am Himmelszelt oben. Ich denke, das ist etwas was wir heute mehr und mehr verlieren, besonders wenn wir aelter werden, unsere Vorstellungskraft. Komm und schau mit mir wieder hinauf in die Wolken und erzaehle mir, was du und deine Vorstellung dort sehen - lass der Fantasie freien Lauf!

Fly Flay away....

A Rainy Day in Paradise

This is how it looks today in paradise. We have rain, strong wind and thunderstorms just now. Hoping strongly tomorrow we will have the sunshine back again!

Island in the Sun...

Everyone knows Harry Belafontes song, "Island in the sun". Mustafa, our Calypso musician and the singer with the warm voice at the pier, sings this song every evening honoring to the sinking sun:
