Mallory Square is a unique place where you can watch the sunset, where you can see good and not so good street performers doing their acts and where you can buy also some hand crafted souvenirs and art from the street vendors - and this every night!
A must to be there when you're in Key West!
A must to be there when you're in Key West!
...or "The Great Rondini"- an escape artist who says from him self, that he is there for more than 30 years...
...or Mark, another street performer, who even made it recently to become the president of this organization(!!!)...
...or all the craft and art people with their stands, they all are so desperate to get some money too, money that pays their bills...
And there is Dave, he is singing for money every night - and often he goes home with almost nothing! But, that's the life of all Mallory Square participants, one day is good the next is bad. There is only one recipe: To come every day and never to give up your HOPE of "maybe there is a better day tomorrow"!
Hi my friends,
thank you again so much for all your support, comments and compliments. I'm fine again, maybe 80% - but yesterday I had my husband with 104F fever in bed. Today he feels better again and every coming day will be better for both of us, I know that. It's a hard life in this little RV if you are sick, believe me - not fun at all. But, weed never dies, right?
Tomorrow we will make our first bigger decision, where to go, which direction to choose. Since it's still cold enough in the northern regions and Tornadoes in the Midwest at this time of the year (!!) it's not easy to know what's the right thing to do!
Any recommendations....???
Stay tuned...I'm sitting here in the office of the campground and happily able to have connections! See you all...

What an exciting place to be. Sorry to hear you guys are still plagued by sickness. Hope you are both 100% soon. There is so much bad weather everywhere-- who knows what is safe? Good luck in whatever you decide.

Hi Sue! WOW! This is what I remember, but your pictures are much better than my video... ;))
Interested in Rajasthan? Blogtrotter has it! ;) Enjoy, comment and have a great weekend!
Ouch 104F degrees, hope he gets better soon. The images are awesome, I love events like this, we call ours the fringe, only happens once a year but lots of fun.
Very nice. I see that your past in Key West is catching up with you. And that you are happy to "hang" around there before you continue with your trip.
Wonderful pictures and readable story - as always - thanks for sharing!
Happy weekend and VD :-)
Wow, Sue I love how you caught the ambiance of Mallory Square Circus!
One question - If "The Great Rondini" is such a great "escape artist", how come he's been THERE for 30 years - I think maybe he does'nt know what "escape" means :-}
Seeya,
Bill
How about Savannah Georgia?
We are going there in a few days too, but would love to see some photos of Savannah!
Susanne, I wish I could tell you where to go, may be drop by my place, but it is cold here, lol. Hope David will get better soon too. But hey may be adventure without cold is not adventure, lol. Get better, and try not to meet up with the tornadoe, lol. Anna :)
Hi Susanne .. sorry to hear you and your husband have been sick. Hope all is well in your world soon. The Southwest is very nice this time of year.
So much fun and excitement. Love how you captured the colors and 'life' of the place!
This truly is a circus but looks colorful and fun!! A strong contrast to the pure whiteness of our landscape right now!! I do hope you both will be feeling better!! I know being ill in a motorvan is not according to plan!!
excellent photography, I just stumbled your colorful bikes. Well done.
Very nice captured.Congratulations
I hope you will both be feeling well and fit for a 100% soon! It sure looks beautiful and interesting where you are!
Mallory Circus look like a fun place to visit all those diffeent things going on and things to see. Wonderful images to catalogue the event.
Oh Susanne, I would love to see a tornado.. I always fancied doing one of those tornado chasing holidays and said I would do that one day if I won the lottery.. Aswell as going to Norway to see the Northern Lights which have always fascinated me since childhood.
Oops forgot to say hole your husband is ok and let him know we wish him well soon. And you too ofcourse LOL
