Spanish Moss hanging on a tree - doesn't look like out of a fairytale book?
I have found a very nice lyric to this picture of Spanish moss:
Spanish Moss
Let go darlin’
I can feel the night wind call
Guess I’d better go
I like you more than half as much
As I love your Spanish moss
Spanish moss hangin’ down
Lofty as the southern love we’ve found
Spanish moss
Keeps on followin’ my thoughts around
Georgia pine and ripple wine
Memories of Savannah summertime
Spanish moss
Wish you knew what I was sayin’
So I’m rollin’ north thinkin’
Of the way things might have been
If she and I could have changed it all somehow
Spanish moss hangin’ down
Lofty as the sycamore you’ve found
Spanish moss
Keeps on followin’ my thoughts around
Georgia pine and ripple wine
Kisses mixed with moonshine and red clay
Spanish moss
Wish you knew what I was sayin’
So I’m rollin’ north thinkin’
Of the way things might have been
If she and I could have changed it all somehow
Let go darlin’
I can feel the night wind call
The devil take the cost
I like the way your kisses flow and I love your Spanish moss

Nice light captured on this image. Is the Spanish Moss growing on a Crepe Myrtle tree? Mother Nature's beautiful "flower arrangement." :)
Hello Sue,
thanks for your comment to my photo today. Yes, it is a Crepe Myrtle tree, but not to many flowers left anymore, because of the moss? I guess yes...
Oh this brings back memories. I used to see it when I visited my great Aunt each summer in Greenville NC. I never saw it north of NC. Lovely!
Hi Dianeca,
Thanks for your visit and your comment. This pretty tree is actually standing in Summerville,SC
I've never seen anything like it over here. Very strange but also beautiful. As is the posem you shared with us.
It's a kind of spooky, right...Carol?
Thanks for commenting!
Hi Sue, it's as if to me like long tinsel hanging from the Christmas tree and ornaments on there as well... =D
It's very pretty.
You said it looks like snow on the mountain picture on my blog and funny that you say that... the next day... there was a light dusting of snow the mountain tops here so YES snow is coming to my area and the leaves are still green... they have not changed colors... but hopefully it stays up top on the mountains. It dipped down to 30F at nights.
Take care.

I had to smile about your impression of a Christmas tree, Michele. Nice comparison. Thanks for the comment!
And about the snow coming down on the mountains I have to tell you, that I have enough experience now (in my age) and have seen a lot of those clouds like in your picture at home in Switzerland. That's why was my first spontaneous feeling: wow, that are snow clouds! :-)
Very enchanting.
Here is a funny story I wish to share about Spanish moss.
When I was a little girl and staying in Florida for the summer with my grandparents, my cousin and I would play dress up outside and we used the moss as hair!!! Boy did we itch when we got home. I could imagine what was hiding in that stuff!! :o)
shot is like a poem and the poem is like your great shot. well done
Hi Tawnyia,
