That was Folly Beach yesterday afternoon
This must be the first bands of tropical storm "Fay"
I like scenes like this and the sound of the big waves coming in to the shore
And there were also two guys out there, they don't cared about the weather nor the coming storm - that was exactly what they needed for their exciting kite surfing sport!
He came later to the beach with his kite and just started going out to the water. But he had to come back pretty soon, then suddenly the horizon was just black!
This kite surfing sport is big fun, you can see it here - and it was big fun also to watch those guys too!
And then it was time to run to the car, big rain drops started falling....

I am always wondering how you deal with the storm threats down South. Do you just hide out at home when it gets bad?

We are always very well informed here on TV and the storm authorities they are giving out mandatory evacuations. First for all the tourists and then for residents, if it's necessary to go. Then, you have to pack your most important "stuff" (like important papers etc..) and go, hit the road up North. In the Motels/Hotels you have to watch where the storm is developing and choose that way your to your next destinations. You can also go in those official offered shelters, following the evacuation route signs, if you like.
We were always using the opportunity to change the word "evacuation" into a "nature forced vacation" and visited a lot of nice places on the road :-)
In the end you are hoping to get back home soon and were hoping too that there will be not too much damage.

wow great storm clouds. I know storms can cause a lot of damage but they also fascinate me to Sue. I've always wanted to go on a tornado chase. Maybe if i'd faced it I would think again but it looks and sounds exciting. Lightening storms especially give me goosebumps i love them.
Yes storm clouds together with the water of the sea is strong power of mother nature - and you can feel it!

That was storm "Fay" and now we are waiting for "Hanna", she should make landfall on Friday in Savannah, maybe 100 miles from here.... it's not what we need up here! But we have enough Hurricane experience by now from Key West...LOL...what's up..? :-)
Gosh those were pretty dark clouds. Sorta like what they had in Ontario before the wind almost tossed my 5000 ton plus fully loaded car.
These clouds are not to joke with.
