Seagulls, waiting for food

Seagulls and a shrimp boat

First comes - first serve
for the preferred sitting pole
(can you see the pelican?)

Ocean Diners

They open up their beaks and throats
For breakfast off the back of boats.
Some take a dip and dive for brunch,
Some join the passengers for lunch-
Or swoop in low for sneak attacks
On things like peanut butter snacks.
And when they're in a hungry mood,
Sea gulls love your finger food!

  7. I love seagulls. They are one of my favorite species on our planet. When I was a kid I actually learned how they communicate so I understand most of their speaking.

Your seagulls look very different from our.

  8. Hi Thomas,
thanks for your comment to "my" seagulls. I like them too, they look like characters, every one is different! Are your gulls maybe smaller than ours?

  11. I grew up deep-sea fishing in south Florida, so this is a familiar sight. It's amazing that when you're 30 miles offshore with nothing in sight, yet these birds circle your boat picking up scraps of bait and saying hello. They're kind of like the people you meet when traveling. Always made the fishing trips worthwhile.
