You know this two guys too...

I met them today and I'm sure you recognize this two guys :)

The Blues Brothers

are a Grammy Award-nominated American blues and soul revivalist band founded in 1978 by comedians Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi as part of a musical sketch on Saturday Night Live. Belushi and Aykroyd, respectively in character as lead vocalist "Joliet" Jake Blues and harpist/vocalist Elwood Blues, fronted the band, which was composed of well-known and respected musicians. The band made its debut as the musical guest on the April 22, 1978, episode of Saturday Night Live.

The band began to take on a life beyond the confines of the television screen, releasing an album, Briefcase Full of Blues, in 1978, and then having a Hollywood film, The Blues Brothers, created around its characters in 1980.

After the death of Belushi in 1982, the Blues Brothers have continued to perform with a rotation of guest singers and other band members. The original band reformed in 1988 for a world tour and again in 1998 for a sequel to the film, Blues Brothers 2000. They make regular appearances at musical festivals worldwide.

Hi my friends,

Thank you so much for your comments to my Shuttle post. The Shuttle did not went off also at the next day not, because of some valve problems. But I'm sure you all have read that online already or heard it in the news on TV. It's cold coffee already, right? :)

I met today the Blues Brothers, believe it or not - as a statue sitting, molded into chairs in a used furniture shop...yes! I had to make some portraits of them, I always liked them :)

Have a good time, stay with me - your comments are very much appreciated.

The Shuttle did NOT went off

The Shuttle Discovery STS-128 did NOT went off last night because of - they said - bad weather conditions. Even though the night sky was clear and the stars were beautiful and bright, only some lightnings here and there on the horizon, but not that strong at all.

We all - Dave and I, and maybe 100 other people - were waiting with big patience to see that spectacle. Some brought a radio with them to listen to the countdown that never happened and some had even their laptop on their knees. One could feel the big disappointment in the crowd when the NASA Control Station said "No" to let the Shuttle going up to space. It is now postponed for tonight at 01.10 A.M.

I don't know if I can be standing up again so long....LOL...

Waiting for a big event

.....waving in the wind....

Hi my friends,

we are waiting for the launch of the Space Shuttle "Discovery STS-128" 01.36 A.M. at Kennedy Space Center. It's the first time in my life to see this spectacle live. I hope I'm not to excited and will forget to click the exposure button....LOL.. If not, I'll have some pictures and maybe also a little video to show you :)

It was a great and beautiful day today... we went into Cocoa Beach and to Melbourne to explore the region and had a fine lunch at "Applebees".... :) that's the "hard and exciting" life of two retirees...LOL...

Stay tuned with me and your kind comments are always very welcome :)

Back to normal....

This is yesterday's photo from the Indian River turned back to the horizontal level :) that means that my day is no more up-side-down, right? ...LOL... everything is back to "normal", our car is fixed and runs like new again - life is good! :)

Hi my friends,

thanks for your wonderful comments and compliments to my post yesterday and the other days too, of course. We were absorbed two days with sitting and waiting to get our RV tuned up and all those mechanical things that have to bee done after a certain time being on the road. I had not to much time to post....

We are thinking about settling down maybe here at the Space Coast and looking around for good locations. There is a lot on the market, but a lot of rubbish too.... :)

Stay with me in this hot Florida weather, everybody is sweating, not just me...LOL...

What a Monday

At the Indian River shores - I'm back to my palm trees again :)

Hi my friends,

What a Monday - we spent more than 8 hours sitting and waiting in a car fixing place until the mechanic released our RV and we went back to the campground where we was the last few days. Tomorrow we will be back in that garage again for an oil change and some more maintenance - boring stuff... :)

Other wise I have nothing news to tell you.... the predicted storms are not coming in our direction, I'm thankful for that. :)

And I'm thankful for all your wonderful comments and compliments to my "wordless Sunday" photo - I knew it that you'll like Black & White's :) me too... I have a lot more in my archives....

Stay with me, bear with me and my bla bla bla's.....LOL...

Hi my friends,

We are heading back to Florida's Peninsula. We loved the emerald green water of the Gulf of Mexico - and we had a good time there. We were even thinking to settle down in Panama City and went out looking at some houses already. But, we didn't liked anything we have seen. Yep, I know it.... probably we are not that easy people if it comes to living accommodations, we have a certain taste and a lot of expectations for our new future home! But I'm optimistic, one day we will find THAT pretty little house to call it our new home :)

Thank you so much for all your kind comments to my last post. Love you all! :)

Stay with me, see ya' tomorrow in Florida again!

I'll show you some pictures tomorrow, if I'll have Internet, o.k.? :)

Stay with us, we will be on the road again tomorrow.

Don't fight!

Fighting for food

Hi my friends,

thank you all for all the nice comments and compliments to my last post and to my last 1001 other posts over all the years I was blogging. Yep, this is my post #1002, today! Unbelievable also for me that I can be working on my blog such a long time and so focused :)

We are arrived at the beautiful Emerald Coast in the Panhandle of Florida - it is perfect weather here and the water is indeed emerald green! We have visited this Gulf region already 6 months ago, that was when we were starting out with our travels, going West the first time.

Who knows, maybe we will be heading towards West again - but first we like to enjoy the Gulf shores, the snow white sand beaches and getting also some sun tan...LOL... :)

Well, then....stay tuned with me - see you at the beach!

Saint Augustin Beach in Florida - a pretty view down from the pier

And, I'm back again to my palm tree photos, I missed them so much :)

Hi my friends,

it was a VERY hot summer day today in Saint Augustin. After our visit to the beach (and to the light house, pictures about that will follow tomorrow) we had to run back "home" because of the coming up afternoon thunderstorm. The sky went BLACK and in seconds we had a heavy rain pouring down. And it's still raining....

Thank you so much for all your wonderful comments and compliments to my last recent posts, your words are very much appreciated! :)

Stay tuned with me, tomorrow will be our last day here in the Sunshine State and then it's time to travel again. Any suggestions where to go...?....LOL... we decided, not to settle down here, it's way to hot and way to humid in Florida - we can not stand this anymore :)

See y'all tomorrow!

Two reasons to celebrate today!

Today is Switzerland's Birthday!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY
and many many more years to come! Switzerland is born in 1291!

Go over to a wonderful blog friend of mine - Peter, he is Swiss too, of course - and read his excellent written tribute to our country:

This photo above was made on my travels to New Glarus in Wisconsin

An anniversary is a time to celebrate the joys of today, the memories of yesterday, and the hopes of tomorrow.

~ Author Unknown ~

And this is our 2nd reason to celebrate today: It's our 8th Anniversary today - and we are still in LOVE together.... I would say: more than ever! :)

I love you, my Darling!!!!!
