I spent a whole afternoon chasing all the roosters to get some shots of these animals who are totally dominating the streets of Key West. For all who don't know about the story behind the roosters here on this island: They used them for fights when the Cuban population came to Key West in the last century. Today they are wild, protected and grow and grow and grow....
You will see them even at the cemetary picking for food and crowing
I call this one "the dancing rooster"
And as he saw me coming too close with my camera he run away, like running for his life.
And don't disturb these two! They must have a very important, personal meeting together.
We love roosters, dont we?

ReplyDeleteYou know, bird shots are some of the hardest to get, even of the poultry variety - you're lucky to have been able to get up close and personal with these roosters. I particularly enjoy the first, second, and fourth one (how cute!)
